Poster and Networking Session

All meeting participants are welcome to contribute posters for the Poster and Networking Session on Tuesday. This session gives you the opportunity to share challenges and successes, and network and learn from your peers.

Date/Time:

Tuesday, December 18, 2007 during lunch.

Poster Submissions:

Fill out the Poster Submission Form by December 7, 2007.

Notification of Acceptance:

The Division of Diabetes Treatment and Prevention is responsible for reviewing and selecting posters for display.
We will notify you of acceptance by email within 1 to 2 weeks after your poster submission is received.

Poster Content:
Submissions around the conference theme and topics are encouraged. Share common issues and best practices for capturing, reporting, using and improving data.

Poster Guidelines:
Posters should be:

Brief and clearly organized.
Simple with an obvious theme related to the conference.
Easy to read from 4 to 6 feet away.

Photos:

If you include photos in your poster, get permission for any photos you show or participant stories you share.
Contact us if you need a sample of a Photo/Interview Permission Release Form.

Poster Format:

Posters will be hung on one side of a 4’ x 8’ poster board.
Posters can be either one large poster sheet (3’ x 6’) or 9”-12” PowerPoint slide printouts.
Poster boards will be provided, and push pins will be available.

Poster Set-up and Removal:

Set up at your assigned poster board
Monday, December 17, 4:00 - 6:00 pm
Tuesday, December 18, 4:00 - 5:00 pm.
Removal
Immediately following the Poster Session (Tuesday, December 18, 2007) at 7pm.

Transport of Poster:
We recommend that you take your poster on the plane with you or FedEx it ahead of time rather than check it with baggage (since baggage is getting lost more these days). If you have a large poster sheet you can buy inexpensive containers to carry it in or cardboard poster holders at office supply stores. If you are using PowerPoint slides printouts, we suggest you print two copies of each just in case a page gets damaged along the way.

During the Poster Session:
Please have at least one person from your program at your poster at all time for questions. Other staff can circulate and view other posters. Have handouts or business cards available in case people want more information on what your program is doing or want to ask questions later.

Preparation for Poster Session:
Think of some questions you want to have answered as you view the posters.
